As an Intern in Alpiq’s Trading Business Management team, you will support the Product Management team in implementing new trading products and contributing to the transformation and future ambitions of Alpiq’s Trading Division. In this role, you will assist in strategic business change, trade support operations, and new product development, gaining hands-on experience in the dynamic world of energy trading.
The Trading Business Management-Team consists over 10 professionals across Alpiq’s trading locations and is instrumental in solving operational, commercial, and strategic challenges for the business. The team drives strategic business change, trade support operations, new product development and is instrumental in solving operational, commercial, and strategic issues facing the business.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to:
- Gain insights into the energy trading market and understand how trading operates in practice.
- Work closely with key functions across the business — including Finance, Risk, Front Office (multiple trading desks, Origination, Asset Trading), Middle Office, and Back Office.
- Learn about the development & implementation of new products in the trading portfolio.
- Develop stakeholder management & project coordination skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and international environment.
Your main responsibilities
- Support the Product Management Team in manage the full product lifecycle, including design, approval, and phase-out processes.
- Ensuring accuracy and completeness of product documentation (Business Cases, Risk Analyses, Product Descriptions, etc.).
- Collaborating with key stakeholder and the New Product Community across multiple European locations.
- Supporting the initiation and coordination of product management-related projects and initiatives.
- Promoting awareness of product management governance documents and assisting stakeholders with related queries.
Your profile
- Interest in energy markets, energy & commodity trading, and product management.
- Completed a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Energy Markets, or a related field, and is currently pursuing or has completed a master’s degree.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work proactively and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable collaborating with diverse teams across locations.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; additional languages are a plus.
