Gösgen run-of-river power plant

The Gösgen power plants is one of the most productive and largest run-of-river power stations on the River Aare. Built in 1917, it was completely rebuilt between 1997 and 2000 and now generates twelve percent more electricity with the same flow of water. The power plant’s facilities also include a 4.8 kilometre canal.
