Alpiq appoints Morgane Trieu Cuot as Head of Business Division Trading

Lausanne – Alpiq’s Board of Directors has appointed Morgane Trieu Cuot as Head of Business Division Trading and a member of the Executive Board, effective 1 January 2027. She has served as Head of Trading ad interim since February 2026. With more than 20 years of experience in European energy markets, she brings deep trading expertise and a strong track record in leading teams and complex transformations.

Since taking over the role on an interim basis in February 2026, Morgane Trieu Cuot has advanced a significant transformation of Alpiq’s Business Division Trading. The organisation has become more connected, agile and accountable, with stronger collaboration across Trading, Assets and Energy Solutions. The new setup streamlines decision-making, increases transparency and reinforces Trading’s contribution to Alpiq’s integrated business model. The appointment of Morgane Trieu Cuot reflects the Board’s confidence in her leadership, strategic mindset and deep expertise in European energy markets. It will take effect on 1 January 2027.

Since assuming the role on an interim basis, she has successfully advanced the transformation of Trading and strengthened its role within Alpiq’s integrated business model. The Board is convinced that she is the right person to lead the division through the next phase of growth and value creation.

Trading is a strategic pillar of Alpiq’s integrated business model. It connects the company’s assets and customer activities with Europe’s energy markets, combining market intelligence, disciplined risk management and execution across different time horizons. The division supports asset optimisation, market access, liquidity management and value creation across the Group.

Over the past months, Morgane has brought greater clarity, accountability and focus to the Trading organisation, strengthened collaboration across Alpiq and created important momentum for its future development. About Morgane Trieu Cuot

Morgane Trieu Cuot joined Alpiq in September 2024 as Head of Asset Trading, where she led asset-backed trading and optimisation across hydropower, pumped storage, thermal assets and gas storage positions in Switzerland, Italy and Spain. In February 2026, she assumed responsibility as Head of Trading ad interim and became a member of the Executive Board ad interim. Morgane Trieu Cuot brings more than 20 years of international experience in European energy trading, derivatives, asset optimisation and commercial value creation, including senior roles at EDF Trading and BP in London. Her expertise spans power and gas trading, options, flexibility optimisation, structured energy management and data-driven trading capabilities. She holds a Master’s degree in Finance from ISC Paris Business School and has completed professional qualifications in financial regulation and derivatives.
