BESS Skeeby

The Skeeby battery energy storage system near Richmond in North Yorkshire, United Kingdom, has been in commercial operation since the end of August 2026. With an output of 35 MW and a storage capacity of 70 MWh, it is the first Harmony Energy project to enter operation since Alpiq acquired its strategic stake. Skeeby thus marks an important milestone in the expansion of Alpiq’s BESS portfolio. The facility strengthens security of supply and supports a more reliable, flexible and lower-carbon British power system.
