The battery energy storage system in Bollingstedt, Germany, is Alpiq’s largest operational BESS and marks an important milestone in the expansion of its European flexibility portfolio. Commissioned in 2025, the facility has an output of 103.5 MW and a storage capacity of 238 MWh, making it one of the largest battery energy storage systems in Germany. By supporting the integration of renewable energy and helping balance electricity supply and demand, BESS Bollingstedt strengthens grid stability and contributes to a secure and sustainable energy future.
