Our strategy is based on developing a strong portfolio of flexible assets, growing merchant trading and focusing our origination activity on short-term flexibility aggregation and long-term PPAs.
In Italy we have a diversified generation asset base totaling a capacity of 750 MW and an established sales and origination business. You will be a key player in shaping and creating a dynamic new team, with a clear focus on exciting growth opportunities. This role offers the chance to not only execute but also proactively contribute to the future development of our business, driving its evolution and success.

Your key tasks and responsibilities:- Build a strong network of relationships with producers, developers and corporates;
- Identify, structure and execute deal opportunities, with strong focus on long Term PPAs;
- Originate new business in flexibility markets;
- Contribute to further develop Alpiq’s offer of structured products and hedging instruments for our customers e.g. virtual power plants and weather derivatives;
- Promote effective relationships with peer originators, traders and other internal stakeholders across multiple teams and locations;
- Expand our current customer base and explore bespoke solutions to meet the evolving client demand.
Your profile
- Proven track record of deal initiation and execution in the Italian PPA market;
- Ideally >5 years’ experience in the Italian power market with a strong business network;
- Fluent English (written and spoken) required, knowledge of additional languages will be valued;
- Analytical mindset, risk/reward approach with a willingness to learn in a fast-paced trading environment;
- Sound understanding of trading, risk management, credit risk, back office and finance functions;
- Proactive attitude and mindset to effectively work in an international and highly diverse environment;
- Committed to contributing to the sustainability and decarbonization of the energy system;
- Resilient and inclusive networker and able to build trust and engagement, both within the company and externally;
- Familiarity with IT, programming skills (Python, R) would be a plus;
- Academic degree, preferably in the field of Engineering, Economics, Mathematics or similar.
- Power: Leads business expansion by negotiating and executing strategic deals, particularly long-term PPAs, strengthening the company’s position in the energy market;
- Impact: Actively contributes to the development of innovative and tailored solutions, such as virtual power plants and weather derivatives, addressing evolving client needs and creating tangible value;
- Learning: Drives continuous professional growth through exploration of new markets (e.g. flexibility) and complex financial instruments, in a dynamic and evolving context;
