We are looking for a Credit Risk Manager to strengthen our credit and project risk capabilities within third-party Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) tolling and Renewable Energy (RES) transactions.

In this role, you will assess and monitor credit exposure across complex energy transactions, combining financial modelling, project risk analysis, and counterparty credit assessment. You will report directly to the Head of Credit & Liquidity Risk and act as a key partner to Front Office, Legal teams and other cross‑functional stakeholders to enable the integration of renewables and flexibility solutions across Europe while safeguarding the company’s risk profile.

Your main responsibilities

  • Identify, assess, and quantify risks of the 3rd party BESS and renewable energy projects
  • Analyse 3rd party project structures (SPVs, financing arrangements, cash flow waterfalls, DSCR profiles).
  • Develop and maintain financial models to assess project viability under base and stress scenarios
  • Perform in-depth financial analysis and credit assessments of new and existing counterparties, including internal rating assignments and limit recommendations.
  • Monitor credit risk exposure and limit utilisation to prevent potential losses; proactively address breaches through structured action plans.
  • Support contract and collateral negotiations by recommending appropriate credit clauses and collateral structures.
  • Monitor collateral adequacy and valuation, ensuring proper coverage of exposures.
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of credit risk systems, tools, and processes.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and provide ad hoc risk expertise as required.

Your profile

  • University degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in project finance, ideally in renewable energy finance
  • Sound understanding of:
    • Project finance structures (SPVs, non-recourse financing)
    • Renewable energy projects (solar, wind) and BESS
    • Tolling agreements and PPA contracts
    • Energy markets and merchant risk exposure
  • Advanced financial modelling skills (Excel); VBA/Python is a plus.
  • High level understanding of financial analysis and credit risk management
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex structures into clear risk recommendations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English (additional European languages are a plus).
