OKModel in Niedergösgen produces recycled corrugated board on a large paper machine with a working width of 515 cm. Large amounts of steam are required in paper production, especially for heating the drying cylinders at the end of the manufacturing process. The Gösgen nuclear power plant has been supplying steam for many years through almost two kilometres of pipeline. The Gösgen nuclear power plant emits around 50 tons of live steam per hour and delivers it to the paper mill via a heat exchanger. During the annual overhaul of the Gösgen nuclear power plant, the factory obtains steam from the power to heat system and via its own steam boiler.
