Zlín coal-fired thermal power plant

The plant is located in the town of Zlín in the south-east of the Czech Republic. It generates and delivers electrical energy, processing heat and district heating and has an electrical capacity of 64 MW and a thermal capacity of 376 MW.

Alpiq acquired the thermal power plant from the US energy group Cinergy at the end of 2005. The primarily coal-fired power plant was commissioned in 1996 and expanded in 2001, and meets all current environmental and safety requirements. It is ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 certified and complies with rigorous standards governing workplace safety, environmental management and process safety. Electricity and processing heat is generated for industrial companies, and district heating is provided to the surrounding urban areas.
