In this role, you help bring our value “We learn and grow together” into everyday practice by continuously challenging trading approaches, strengthening risk capabilities, and learning from outcomes. By sharing the steering wheel with Assets and taking clear ownership of risk, performance, and value creation, you ensure robust results while enabling sustainable growth. Your work is highly collaborative. You act as a strategic sparring partner to Asset Management, Origination, Risk, and senior leadership, focusing on outcomes while translating strategy into execution, driving transformation, developing talent, and reinforcing a culture of ownership and accountability across the desk.

Your accountabilities
  • Lead the active trading and risk management of the Asset portfolio, ensuring disciplined execution and clear ownership of positions and outcomes.
  • Drive business growth by unlocking optimization potential, new trading opportunities, and portfolio enhancements.
  • Act as the primary interface to Asset Management, Origination, Risk, Quants, Structuring, Asset Optimisation, Market Analysis, Middle Office, other trading desks and other key stakeholders, ensuring strong alignment and fast decision‑making.
  • Develop, coach, and empower team members, strengthening individual accountability, technical skills, and leadership capabilities.
  • Foster a strong performance culture anchored in learning, ownership, transparency, and outcome focus.
  • Lead transformation initiatives across processes, tools, and ways of working to elevate trading and risk standards.
  • Full P&L accountability

Your profile

  • Strong motivation and capability to grow into a leadership role.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate risks, performance, and strategic choices to senior management.
  • Proven experience in asset trading and risk management, with a strong track record of P&L ownership in energy markets.
  • Quantitative / Financial Engineering background – Advanced knowledge of options is required
  • 10+ years’ experience in trading European Gas & Power markets
  • Language: English Fluent, Other languages is a strong advantage
  • Programming skills: advanced level (python)
