Refuse incineration plant commissioned in Tessin

The assembly work for the new refuse incineration plant at Giubiasco in the Swiss canton of Tessin has been completed. Alpiq participated in the construction through its subsidiaries Kraftanlagen München (KAM) in Germany and Alpiq InTec Ticino SA in Tessin.

On 25 February 2010, the trial operation period came to an end; the system was handed over to the cantonal waste disposal company. An official opening ceremony is planned for late summer 2010.

Alpiq InTec Ticino assumed responsibility for the planning, supply and assembly of the whole of the electrical and control technology system for the monitoring and control of the whole process.

Alpiq Prozessautomation and Kummler + Matter SA in Mezzovico, were also strongly involved in the work on this part of the plant.
