Alpiq E-Mobility AG is expanding and recently implemented the first charging infrastructure project outside of Switzerland: for the Italian food corporation Esselunga in Verona. The electro-mobility company is focused on continued growth. The foundation for this growth is Alpiq’s Digital & Commerce business division, which Alpiq E-Mobility AG has been a part of since the second quarter of 2017. Amongst other things, the business division focuses on the optimisation and networking of flexible and decentralised solutions in the field of energy and offers Alpiq E-Mobility AG an optimal platform for future growth.
The quick charging station, with two bays and an output of 22 kW, is accessible to customers of the Esselunga shopping centre in Verona. The two bays are connected to Alpiq’s “easy4you” access and payment system. This platform is already providing valuable services to charging station operators and e-mobility suppliers in Switzerland. In future, Alpiq will take on the role of general contractor for E-Mobility in Italy and is developing an e-commerce platform together with several partners.
In Switzerland, the “Grand Tour of Switzerland” – the world’s first road trip for e-vehicles – was inaugurated in mid-2017. The Grand Tour of Switzerland Association awarded the contract for the electrification of the 1,600-kilometre route to Alpiq E-Mobility. In cooperation with hotels, energy supply companies and municipalities, Alpiq E-Mobility installed a network of 300 charging stations along the route.
Alpiq E-Mobility AG was founded as an independent company within the Alpiq Group in 2012. Alpiq is convinced of the future of electro-mobility. As the Swiss market leader, the company offers comprehensive infrastructure solutions and takes on the planning, installation and maintenance of charging stations for e-cars. An expansion of the product range focuses on “Mobility as a Service” (MaaS).
