Alpiq shows Ueli Maurer how electric cars are now charged

Today’s opening of the Geneva Car Show was a must for Ueli Maurer. On his visit to the Alpiq stand, the Federal President discovered how today’s electric cars are charged correctly, reliably and with ease. Other visitors to the exhibition can see this for themselves between now and 17 March 2013.

At precisely 10 a.m. this morning, Ueli Maurer opened the International Geneva Car Show. The Federal President was informed not only about the 130 world and European premieres unveiled, but also about alternative forms of drive. At the Alpiq stand, Peter Arnet, CEO of Alpiq E-Mobility AG, and Protoscar CEO Marco Piffaretti, demonstrated modern charging system to the VIP.

Between 7 and 17 March 2013, some 260 exhibitors will be attracting visitors interested in cars and automobile accessories to the seven Palexpo halls in Geneva. The show focuses once more on "green" vehicles: According to the organisers, one in ten of the 900 or so cars exhibited can be called environmentally friendly. And more than a handful are electrically-powered.

Alpiq exhibits charging systems and Smart Home

Alpiq is also exhibiting at the Car Show as part of the e’mobile Association’s stand. Alpiq E-Mobility AG boasts a wide range of charging systems for all applications – for the correct, simple and reliable charging of electric cars. At Stand 5.141 Alpiq is exhibiting the Home Charge device for private use and the Public Fast Charger for public transport applications. The latter is used for EVite, a Swiss-wide network of fast-charging stations currently being set up. Alpiq will also be presenting its Smart Home concept: an intelligent system for linking up building technology, electricity grid, photovoltaics and e-mobility.
