Trading company now known as Atel Trading

The Aare-Tessin Ltd. for Electricity (Atel) is renaming its trading subsidiary. From 1 April 2001 it will be known as Atel Trading, and the old derivAtel name will disappear.

Atel Trading is responsible for trading standard products and providing related services in addition to price hedging in the derivatives sector. To this end, the company will have a presence in the liberalised European energy markets as one of the leading electricity trading companies in all relevant OTC (over-the-counter) markets and exchanges.

Furthermore, together with its cooperation partner Energipartner AS, Oslo, Atel Trading also intends to provide independent portfolio management for third parties, for example, for large industrial customers or municipal plants, and also offer its customers the chance to trade on electricity futures markets. Atel is thus transforming its subsidiary into a forward-looking and strong service provider in all aspects of electricity trading.

Atel Trading is wholly owned by the Olten-based electricity trading company Aare-Tessin Ltd. for Electricity (Atel). The company was originally founded in mid-1999 as derivAtel and is licensed as a securities trader by the Swiss Banking Commission.
