Alpiq sponsors Fränzi Aufdenblatten

Alpiq strengthens its involvement in competitive skiing. Following Dominique Gisin, the company has now concluded a contract with Fränzi Aufdenblatten, another top Swiss athlete. Alpiq and Fränzi Aufdenblatten signed a year’s contract on 6 July 2012 in Murten.

Alpiq and Fränzi Aufdenblatten join forces. The two are well matched, since the cheerful Fränzi, who comes from the Valais, has close links to nature and the mountains as a result of her origin. In addition to English she also speaks French.

"I want to give back energy to Alpiq" During the signing of the contract with the CEO a.i. Hans E. Schweickardt and Michael Wider, Head of the Energy Switzerland Business Division, Fränzi Aufdenblatten stated: "A new ski brand, a new head trainer and now a new individual sponsor – that gives me additional power for the next season." The native of Zermatt voiced her confidence that with her positive attitude to life she will be able to give energy back to Alpiq. 

Win a medal in Schladming The 31 year old competes in the downhill, super-G and giant slalom disciplines; her favourite racing piste is St. Moritz. Fränzi Aufdenblatten is characterised by her determination and ambition, and she wants to win a medal at the World Cup 2013 in Schladming.
