From 2005 to 2016, he was CFO and a member of the Executive Board of Swissgrid AG, first as Head of Finance and Accounting and most recently as Head of Corporate Services. Before this, the dual citizen of Switzerland and Italy worked for Energiedienst Holding AG, the Watt Group and the Federation of Migros Cooperatives.
Antje Kanngiesser, CEO of Alpiq Holding Ltd., is convinced: “With his experience and personality, Luca Baroni will be an ideal addition to Alpiq. In collaboration with our colleagues, we will actively shape the future of our company. Over the next few years, we will apply our focused strategy to create value: for our customers and our company, for the climate and for the security of supply in Switzerland and in Europe.”
Alpiq has a solid foundation, both financially and in terms of its balance sheet. After years of consolidation and transformation, the company is now striving for sustainable growth. “Alpiq is a strong, future-oriented company with a clear trajectory. I am very much looking forward to my new role and to working with my designated team and the Executive Board,” Luca Baroni says.
