Guided tours of power stations and sightseeing: Discover a world full of energy

Alpiq has for many years offered interested parties the opportunity to visit power stations and dams that are operated by Alpiq and its partners.

For schools and training centres these visits are of particular interest since one is able to discover at the source what lies behind a power socket and just what the physical phenomena mean in practice.

Over and above this the dams of our storage power stations, embedded in a unique alpine landscape, offer an educational and entertaining destination for an excursion. They are also a starting point for numerous mountain hikes.

Application for a power station tour

For guided tours of groups, the Ruppoldingen, Gösgen and Flumenthal run-of-river power stations as well as the Airolo plant are open throughout the year from Monday to Saturday, and the Veytaux, Bitsch, Gondo, Chandoline, Fully, Martigny-Bourg and Miéville storage power stations from Monday to Friday. The guided tours are free and last approximately 90 minutes.

The Cleuson and Gebidem dams can be visited by groups of 10 persons from Monday to Friday between June and October. The guided tours are free and last approximately 60 minutes.

Guided tours inside the Grande Dixence dam are conducted daily between mid-June and the end of September at 11:30, 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30. An admission fee is charged. For more information, visit www.grande-dixence.ch.
