Wind Power Plants
In 2010 Alpiq acquired a holding in the Cers wind park. The system is situated in the well-known wine growing area of Les Corbières not far from the town of Carcassonne. The installed power is 7.5 MW and the electricity generated is around 22 GWh per annum.
The Enpower wind farm in fact consists of three separate wind farms around the Agrigento region. Alpiq took a stake in the plant in August 2008, as part of its partnership with Moncada Energy Group.
The wind farm on Monte Mele, near Agrigento, belongs like the Enpower wind farm to M&A Rinnovabilli S.r.l.. Alpiq acquired a 30% stake in the company in 2008, as part of the partnership with Moncada Energy Group. The plant is made up of 10 wind turbines generating 8.5 MW, and has been in operation since December 2005.
M&A Rinnovabilli S.r.l. is building a 40 MW wind farm in Cattolica Eraclea, around 20 km northwest of Agrigento on Sicily. The plant is to go operational in the second half of 2010.
EolJorat is a wind farm project jointly managed by Alpiq and Romande Energie with the aim of building five wind farms, each with a capacity of 3 Megawatts (MW).
The Gravières wind park is a power plant with a total output of 10.5 MW. Acquired by Alpiq in 2008, the wind park is situated near Montélimar in the Department of Drôme.
From May until completion at the end of 2010, Alpiq built the Le Peuchapatte wind farm near the village of Muriaux in the Swiss Jura. Le Peuchapatte is Alpiq's first wind farm in Switzerland.
Ramacca wind farm is located on Sicily, about 30 km west of Catania. Alpiq took a stake in its construction in late 2006. 47 turbines sited on the hills outside Ramacca together generate 78.5 MW. Firstly, Alpiq is tapping-in to know-how on competitive technologies like wind energy.
"Tous-Vents" is a wind farm project in the Gros-de-Vaud region, covering the Vaud municipalities of Essertines-sur-Yverdon, Orzens, Pailly, Ursins and Vuarrens.
