Small hydroelectric power station of Isento AG

The small Murkart hydroelectric power station belonging to Isento AG was completely refurbished in 2008.

The brush-furnished fishway at Murkart small hydroelectric power plant.
Isento AG with its registered office in Thal operates six power stations in the eastern part of Switzerland. The company was founded in 1990 and since the 15th of March 2007 has been fully owned by Alpiq EcoPower Schweiz AG.
One of the power stations is Murkart near Frauenfeld, which was completely refurbished in 2008 and since then has supplied electricity for around 450 households in the region. Now a bristle fish passage allows fish to overcome the weir upstream. With the erecting of biotopes near the weir Alpiq is making an important contribution to improving the ecological environment around the power station.
