The modernisation of the Navizence hydroelectric power station (VS) has entered its final phase. The seven old machine groups have been dismantled and replaced with three new machine groups, each with a capacity of 24.3 MW. Alpiq is realigning its cooperation with the Italian Monaca Energy Group. Alpiq will take over two wind farms from the joint venture M&A Rinnovabili S.r.l., and Moncada will take over four biomass power stations. On 23 October 2009 following a 20 month construction period, Alpiq Holding Ltd. commissioned a new industrial power station in Monthey (Swiss canton of Valais). The efficient combined heat and power station is rated at 55 megawatts electrical power and 43 megawatts thermal power. With 80 percent, the power station has a very high efficiency.
