Montreux Jazz Festival 2012

For the third year in a row, Alpiq is renewing its partnership with the Montreux Jazz Festival. In addition to financial support, Alpiq will use its energy efficiency skills in the creation of the "Garden", the Festival’s VIP area.

Building on the experience it has gained during previous editions of the Festival, Alpiq will help to create a VIP hospitality platform at the cutting edge of energy efficiency technology.
Alpiq will provide light for the "Garden" through its subsidiary, Alpiq Intec, a buildings energy optimisation specialist. The lighting system will involve latest-generation very-low energy LED lighting. Thirty-six photovoltaic panels (59 m2) will also be installed in order to meet some of the power requirements of the space. At the 2011 Festival, the photovoltaics in the "Garden" produced 1,893 kWh, or the electricity consumption of the VIP boxes, the shared areas and the outdoor bar of the "Garden". Equivalent, in other words, to 96 % of the electricity consumed in the space during the Festival.

Through this partnership, Alpiq will have an exceptional venue in which to receive its customers and partners, in a setting both warmly welcoming and environmentally-friendly.
