Industrielle Werke Basel (IWB) will become a new partner in the Nant de Drance pumped storage power station currently under construction. Alpiq is to sell IWB a 15 per cent stake in Nant de Drance SA. With this, the company will hold a 39 per cent interest in the project.

The responsible authorities have authorised the 3CA Project for the construction and operation of a gas-fired combined-cycle power station in the commune of Monchy-au-Bois in Northern France. Alpiq has put the Vetrocom wind park into commercial operation. The 20 wind turbines in central Bulgaria are connected to the grid and are supplying green electricity. On 16 December 2010, the Alpiq Board of Directors agreed to an extension of the wind park.
