Quality and safety first and foremost
Quality management and safety in the workplace are top priorities at Alpiq. We take great care to provide state-of-the-art facilities and ensure that they are kept in top working condition. This way we protect the population, our own employees and the environment.
It is our goal to make sure that our plants function reliably at all times. After all, our customers depend on us and on our facilities. Our conventional thermal power plants in Italy, Hungary and the Czech Republic boast use state-of-the-art technology and comply with rigorous workplace safety standards.
Awards for high safety standards
Our combined cycle gas-fired power station in Csepel near Budapest and our coal-fired power plant in Zlin are ISO 9001 certified. Csepel and the ECKG coal-fired power plant in Kladno near Prague have won several awards from the British Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents for their high workplace safety and accident prevention standards. Added to this, all three power plants in Central/Eastern Europe operate a safety and health protection system and are OHSAS 18001 certified. The Gösgen nuclear power plant also has a certificate for its quality management system.
Quality from which everyone benefits
The list of our achievements and awards for consistent quality management is long. To name but a few:
In 2000, EOS became the first hydroelectricity company in Switzerland to be certified with the EE 002 label from Germany's TÜV technical inspectorate.
Thanks to targeted training and an established safety culture, for seven consecutive years not a single employee at Alpiq Cespel has been injured in a work-related accident.
The quality management system operated by Alpiq Zlín s.r.o. was awarded the Gold Certificate in 2005.
Alpiq companies in the Czech Republic won several prizes in 2005, including awards for workplace health, environmental management and accident prevention.
